Illegal Areas for Concealed Carry

Many of the concealed carry tips for you to use involve the legality of concealed carry. While most states will allow for you to use concealed carry after you meet a certain serious of requirements based on where you live, there are still some illegal areas for concealed carry that you should be aware. Using concealed carry in any of these areas is against the law.

 

All types of schools will generally not allow firearms on campus, and these firearms include concealed weapons. There are some areas where you can carry a concealed weapon on school grounds in accordance with the Federal Gun-Free School Zones Act of 1990. The people who are allowed to carry these weapons on school grounds under this act are those who have permits that have been issued by the state. In most cases the only people who will be allowed these permits are police officers.

Most places that sell alcoholic beverages will not allow guns in their areas, and concealed carry with be illegal in these places. This is done with the intention of safety, as alcohol as easily impair the judgment of a person, and if the person has a gun at hand the consequences of alcohol use could be especially dire. These places include restaurants, sporting venues and movie theaters that sell alcohol.

Stores that sell alcohol, including liquor stores, will generally be among the places where concealed carry is illegal in most areas. However, since these are public places that anyone can go to it is best to not bring any weapons to these places.

Another of the concealed carry tips involves using your judgment when going into places to see if you can use concealed carry or not. Places where security is especially high will be places where you generally will not be able to use concealed carry. These places include banks, airports and any government buildings. You can be arrested for even bringing a gun to any of these places in some areas because of the high level of suspicious that you will be placed under.

Any public events will not allow concealed carry. This is because of the high level of traffic among people and the ability for anyone to go into the area. With this you should use this as one of the concealed carry tips to keep in mind when deciding if your should be bringing your gun or not to a place. General public events include sporting events, major fairs and other areas where large numbers of people will go to. Also, public meeting areas like theaters and hotels will generally not allow concealed carry.

These are all illegal areas for concealed carry that you should watch for. These places include schools, places where alcohol is served or offered, high-security places and areas where high levels of people will be at the place at once. Knowing the legality of where you can use concealed carry is one of the most essential concealed carry tips to use.
