Ten states are may-issue states. These states include California, New York, Massachusetts and Hawaii. These are states where you may be able to get a permit for a gun to use for concealed carry. This generally involves more judgment as to who is going to be able to get a permit or not. While you could get a permit in these states there are some especially strong requirements. For instance, in urban parts of New York you would need a good amount of money to get a permit. Also, laws in California vary by location.

No private citizens of these two states are allowed to carry guns for their own unless they are exposed. Also, concealed carry permits are only available to members of the police force or other groups of authority in these states. However, with other states changing their concealed carry laws it may not be long until these states do that.
Concealed carry legality is important for you to consider when you are looking for a gun for your own use. Some states will let you do it, and others will not, but in most cases you will need to follow a few requirements in order to get a concealed carry permit.
House Bill 571 would allow people with concealed carry licenses to store their guns in locked cars at work. Thirteen other state have similar laws, including Indiana & Kentucky.
